Event Details

[For adults]  "Grow your 2026 Culinary Garden" is a 4-part series created to help participants design and dream their way into a new gardening season. 

Session 2: In this session, we discuss healthy soil, our local growing climate, and how to grow and care for leafy crops like herbs and greens. Soil is the life giving component of our gardens and we want to carefully select a soil mixture that will allow the crops to thrive with the right composition and nutrient components. Attendees will also learn about our local growing climate which surprisingly allows us to grow in three distinct seasons between March and December. Finally, we dive into the first of three plant categories, leaves, where we learn about growing and harvesting herbs and greens.
